Well, this year I made some new resolutions, some that are the same every year, that I don't always follow through with. I am trying to read my kids a portion of scripture every day. Just because they can't read does not mean they don't need to have it read to them. We have done this in the past but it seems like in this busy day that is the first thing that goes, and the smallest children do without. So sad. So far so good though. Every day this month (I know it is only the sixth) we have read the Bible. And as soon as I say- guys come sit on the couch they get excited, are we gonna do devotions??? What a wonderful feeling, to have the kids excited to hear the Word.
I would love to tackle a new project this year, quilting, but might need some help. Need to talk to hubby to see if he can spare me one day a week or every two weeks and then talk to a good friend and see if she wants to join me in the new endevour... hint hint, wink wink Tiffany. I would really like to be crafty and I am not, so... plus I would love for the girls to join me if we actually do it.
Also, I have been getting up earlier so far every day this year, sounds funny (its the sixth) but it is a start, usually up by 6:30 (I know most people probably are, but I go to bed after midnight most nights). But that is definately with God's help (He gets the dogs to REALLY have to go out at that time). But I love it. I get to sit down and read my Bible and drink a cup of coffee (which I am only allowing myself one cup) before anyone wakes up. this is my ultimate goal, that way I can't let it go unforgotten.
I am still working on that meek and quiet spirit, which a person from Keepers Of The Faith has a forum and one of the "owners" does a Bible study on her forum and she said to find that meek and quiet spirit she read the Gospels and kept in mind the way Jesus handled situations, the way he spoke to people etc. and since he is our Ultimate example it will help to "see" how to be what we should. So that is where i started in my new years reading. Back to the Gospels under a different thought pattern.
Well, I better go, I am supposed to be working.
Talk to you later
